Swiftwater & Flood Rescue Boat Operator
Audience:
Employees of fire departments, police, ambulance or other emergency services that are deployed in swift water to preform rescue or search and rescue using a (fast) boat. One could think of rivers and floodplains.
Description:
During this training we learn to deal with motorized boats in swift water. Futhermore we look indeeped to the techniques taught in swift water rescue technician (SRT 1) and in the surface water rescueboat course. Learning to drive on water where one has to navigate eddie's, must traverse in the current and allowing them to pick up people in swift water are the key learning objectives for this course. In short, obtaining optimum boat control in swift water. Furthermore, there is ample attention given to safe working with throwing lines and leashes swimmers from a boat in water.

This training is consistent with NFPA 1670 and 1006 standards for technician level.
Entrance requirements:
The course running Swiftwater & Flood Rescue Technician (SRT) and the course Rescue Boat Operator have been successfully completed is a condition to participate in this training.
Owning international certificate of competence for inland and coastland waters is recommended.
