Swiftwater & Flood first responder
Audience:
Employees of firefighters, police, ambulance, military, rescue teams or other emergency services that might be faced with carrying out self-rescue or rescue of a simple surface water, with dams, sluices or flood areas.
Description:
In this training the participants will get to know the risks that play an important role involved in swift water rescue on here and how to deal with. After a theoretical start we look at using the right equipment and various safety measures around water rescue in swift water.
It starts with various forms of self-rescue, including defensive and offensive swimming, so the self-rescue capacity and one's own safety can be enlarge. We also look extensively in various forms of shallow water crossings, which play a hugely important role mainly when working in flood areas.
Finally, there are various ways available and practiced to carry out rescues from shore using various resources and rescuetools. This training is very popular in the UK with the emergency services that give support to evacuations in flood plains.
