Congress surface water rescue - Projektivity
On Tuesday October 5 the Congress Surface Water Rescue "Modern views on water accidents" toke place in Zoetermeer. For the demonstrations we used the unique whitewater course of Dutch Water Dreams sports complex.
In the Netherlands, a large part of the fire department struggle with the question whether operating with surface water rescue instead of - or in addition with - a diving team may be possible. In addition, people think increasingly about the details of the disaster relief mission with floods. Therefore we decided to organize a congress to answer some of the following questions:
- Which risks are involved in carrying out surface water rescue in various situations?
- What is the common in (inter) national standards for surface water rescue?
- What can we learn from experiences of fellow firefighters around the world?
- Which personal protective equipment and team kits are available?
- What's important when making strategic choices?
- How can we simply, safely and effectively give substance to surface water rescue in the firedepartments? - What is the role of emergency services at flooding and what preventive and repressive action is required?
- How is water rescue at the operational level used and which variables play an important role?
